Discord Not Updating or It’s Stuck at checking for updates [Troubleshoot]

Discord is a Voice over IP applications. Basically, this app is used to communicate with friends and other people. You can chat, voice chat and do lots of other stuff in Discord. But, you might encounter a Downloading Update issue while opening the Discord app. It is pretty common to see the Downloading Update screen when users open the Discord app. But in this case, the Downloading Update screen won’t go away.  Even if you leave this app open for a couple of hours, the screen will stay just the same. Closing the app and restarting will not fix this issue. Rebooting the whole system hasn’t resolved the issue for anyone as well. Whenever you will open the Discord app, you will see this screen. This won’t have any effect on the web version though. Almost all the users experiencing this were able to use the web version without any issues.

So if your Discord is not updating or its stuck at checking for updates then the most likely culprit behind this issue is the Discord installer/update. There is a bug in the update (or the installer) that causes this issue. That is why the issue isn’t replicated on the web version. Usually, this can be resolved by reinstalling via a fresh installer. However, if that doesn’t solve the issue and if you still cannot update discord then that means the problem might be in one of the app files or Window system files.
